As teachers, we are constantly thinking of ways to produce assessments that create authentic interactions with content and other learners. Web 2.0 tools create excellent opportunities for teachers to create both formative and summative assessments. Students are able to solve real-world problems and collaborate with peers. Web 2.0 tools can help teachers monitor whether or not their students are learning and to help provide immediate feedback. Furthermore, there are even Web 2.0 tools to help students self-reflect as well as self-assess. This session will show you how to use Web 2.0 tools that are specific for different kinds of assessments. This session will also help you “think outside the box” when you do those constant “checks for understanding” throughout your lesson. The following categories in which Web 2.0 tools can be utilized will be covered in this session:

  • Quiz and Test Generations
  • Presentation Tools
  • Self-Assessments
